Hey everyone!

I got a chance to detail another GPW Acura NSX. I love these cars and I love working on them. This one wasn`t as bad as the first one. It only needed a 1 step polish, the Honda clear coat is real soft and was easily corrected with Meguiars M205 and a LC tangerine pad.

But lets get this thing started and I will explain a little more as we go through.

This is the car the car when I arrived.

I began by spraying the wheels down with some Chemical guys diablo wheel gel. (this wheel cleaner is OK? I bought it because of its pH balanced cleaning abilities and how safe it is on all type of wheels) After I finish off this gallon i probably wont be buying any more.

It`s always important to strip off any old wax`s and sealants just to make sure you are correcting the tru paint surface and not the wax. It can make a correction job VERY difficult to correct when you have layers and layers of wax on the surface. I use DAWN ultra concentrate to help with this.

This is the first time I get to try out my new Small Karcher pressure washer. So far this thing is awesome! very small and compact and mobile. Lets just hope it doesn`t crap out on me for a while.

I used it along with the Karcher Foam gun, I used the DAWN for soap.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1204.jpg

I let the Foam dwell for a little bit letting it pull all of the dirt off whille it runs down. the less you have to wipe on the car with dirt the less scratches you will have.

Once the foam has done it`s job. I used a Bucket w/ a grit gaurd and a 100% sheep skin mitt to wash with.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1205.jpg

Then rinsed.......

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1206.jpg

while washing the car, the Diablo wheel gel has been dwelling and it is time to scrub the wheels. I used various brushes to do this.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1208.jpg

So After drying off the car, I pulled it into the garage and one cool thing about this customer is that he had a lift! I was pretty excited that I didn`t have to be bent over for the next 8 hours.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1210.jpg

Next I began taping off all of the plastic moldings.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1213.jpg

Then I clayed the car using some Show room shine and Blue Clay magic claybar.

So before choosing my final combo, I tried out a couple of different combinations.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1228.jpg

I ended up choosing a Lake country Hydrotech Tang pad with Meguiars M205 polish. Since the Honda clear coat it soft enough. I reached the amount of correction I was shooting for.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1242.jpg

I love having a car at my height. it makes the job so much easier.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1246.jpg

Next I polished all of the lips of the wheels and the exhaust tips

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1250.jpg

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1253.jpg

Then I lowered the car to finish polishing the roof.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1255.jpg

As I was finishing up on the NSX, the other White NSX that I done a Full correction to, showed up to get the oil changed. So we swapped out cars and I finished the sealant stage over to the side.

What a cool sight huh?

So I applied some Black Fire Wet diamond sealant to the car via Flex 3401 and LC blue finishing pad.

After it cured I then wiped it off. I love how easy this stuff wipes off. after that many hours of hard work, no one wants to fight wax to be removed.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k126/ericwitt04/NSX%202%20Cruz/DSC_1266.jpg

Now for some sun shots and wet shots.

Excellent work Eric! The NSX is a true driver`s car that (IMO) is vastly underrated. I have never tried BFWS. How long do you have to let it sit before wiping off?

about 10-15 min. just enough o haze up a little bit. somtimes its better to go back over it with some Black fire Gloss enhancing spray to wipe off any streaks.

I was just thinking about this combo today, wow.

Orange LC on m205. I`ve got a black 745 to do soon, with light scratches. I actually think there less than the NSX you did. Think the combo would work for me?

Thanks!

That looks great.

I also love how easy BFWD is to come off!

I thought bfwd had a cure time of at least a few hrs (6-8 if i remember correctly. I know the directions claim to let it dry to a haze but I believe this is what most choose to do for "best results"

Nice work! I love NSXs. Show Room Shine is pretty slick stuff isn`t it? Works great as a clay lube.

This was the LC Hydrotech Tang pad, not the LC orange. but the Honda clear coat is extremely soft, so on this vehicle it worked. on other harder clear coats it probly wouldn`t.

I`m pretty sure it still cures after I wipe it off. I have been using this stuff of a bunch of cars and they still feel as sexy 1-3 months later as it does right when i wipe it off. this stuff is notorious for its slickness and softness. I keep reaching for it every time.

is that lift mobile!??? lol

I wish this lift was mobile. but unfortunately i cant log around 1500lbs of steel, lol. but the next wheel cleaner is going to be P21s, and I finally bit the bullet and bought some and it is so much better!

yeah I wanted somthing that didn`t add any wax or protection so I chose the good ol show room shine!

Thanks everyone!
