I know the reason that CG`s gallons aren`t full is for UPS and other shipping companies, but I wish they could be a little more accurate with just how much theyre going to leave out. I received some CWG and Grime reaper this morning, neither is full, but there must be 20 washes worth missing from the CWG! Come on CGs, get it together.

Where should it be filled to in order to be a full gallon?

As long as you are getting a full gallon I don`t think you can complain if the overage is not consistent

If you can get past the high shipping rates, horrible customer service, unorganized website, cheap labels that get damaged when water touches it, and how they come about with their prices on 16oz and Gals [compare 16oz of sticky wheel gel($15.95) and diablo($10.95) HERE (http://www.chemicalguys.com/Auto_Detailing_Cleaners_And_Degreaser_s/46.htm) , and Gal of sticky wheel gel(36.54) and diable($64.23) HERE (http://www.chemicalguys.com/Auto_Detailing_Cleaners_And_Degreasers_s/12.htm)] they are not so bad. :lol At least their products are decent.

The Grime Reaper is just short of a gallon, the CWG is 16oz short.

the grime reaper is normal as far as the fill/amount (right below the start of the side handle), but not the cw&g...

here`s an example as well...

I assume the CG view is that it is still cheaper than you got elsewhere.

How did you measure that?

Realizing you don`t care for the company very much and ignoring the rest of your post, there is nothing wrong with their shipping rates. I suspect you have no idea how much it actually costs to ship gallon jugs of liquids.

Well said, go down to your local UPS store and ship some stuff - I have and do often - trading stuff with other members here. Shipping ain`t cheap, and I usually go in with some others when there is free shipping and we want to get some gallon jugs of stuff.

:har: I know how much it is to ship gal products. Ignore my post if you want. You dont know me from anybody else. I have several of their products. I dont have to like the company to like their products.

If they had any right business sense they wouldn`t use cheap labels and have such a large price difference between 16oz to gal size products.

I know what shipping prices are as I ship products out all the time. There is a big difference between someone small like me shipping products out and a big company like CG with a commercial shipping account.

You can get some CG products from Detailed Image and then wait for a free shipping deal.

A gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds.

WikiAnswers - How much does one gallon of water weigh (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_does_one_gallon_of_water_weigh)

I suspect by the time you put that gallon of water in a plastic container and then in a box with packing materials it weighs a minimum of 10 pounds. I also suspect a lot of their products weigh more than water. I just loaded a gallon of Pure Carnauba Creme Wax - Warm Deep Color ($28.95) into my cart to check their shipping rates. Shipping from California to a commercial address in Florida is $7.11. Their shipping rates are more than reasonable, they are cheap. Create an imaginary 10 pound package of an appropriate size to hold a gallon container and check rates with USPS, UPS and FedEx. Then come back and say CG`s shipping rates are excessive. You might not like the company, their customer service and/or products, but to complain about their shipping rates is baseless and unfair.

Edit: Mequiar`s standard shipping rates:

If your Order is: Shipping Cost

$0.00 - $19.99 $6.95

$20.00 - $39.99 $7.95

$40.00 - $59.99 $8.95

$60.00 - $79.99 $9.95

$80.00 - $99.99 $10.95

$100.00 - $119.99 $11.95

$120.00 & above 10% of Order Total

You`r so funny! You`re making this even bigger than it has to be. I never even said I didnt like their products and in fact said I liked them. I mentioned shipping one time and never even mentioned to you where I order my CG products so stop assuming things. This is after all my thoughts on the company right? I live on the east coast so why would I order from CG in Cali when I can just order from DetailedImage (NY) and not have to bother directly with the company.

Anyways..........

Thats about a Gal. Also consider if the container is expanded (qty would reveal itself at a lower level)
