My questions are:

What other steps could I have done? How good is the beading?

The beading looks fine to me, but I have only used a handful of products in the past and am wondering what other products will give me different results.

Here are the products I used, I dont know the numbers yet, all applied by hand with only one layer. Hand wash and rinse with dish soap prior to polish. And no I have no affiliation with Meg`s, they were just on sale.

Pics were taken in the rain, kinda dark... thanks

Meg`s M26 would have been a "better" choice for the wax. Even Tech Wax 2.0 might have yielded better results.

Beading does not always equate to "better" protection (but with carnauba waxes beading is THE big difference compared to sealants)

However, If YOU think the paint surface is swirl-free and the wax gloss/shine is OK, what difference does it make what I say.

I assume you bought these products over-the-counter at an auto-parts store or an discount store like Canadien Tyre.

Also, ditch the dish soap for your regular car-wash routine. It will strip the nice carnauba wax you just laboriously applied by hand to your car.

Meg`s Gold-Class Car Wash soap (something you can find over-the-counter) is much better to use for in-between waxes for your car wash maintenance. You can use the dish soap (Dawn, I assume) the next time you feel the car need to wax your car.

By the way, what is the make, model, and paint color of the car in the photo??

That beading looks good but the question is how long it will last with regular washes and environmental conditions.

A better question would be is beading an indication of protection or surface tension alone?

Miiint, the beading looks fine. There is no right or wrong here. Beading is cosmetic. Different waxes/synthetics produce different kinds of beading on different surfaces.

The new formulation of Gold Class Carnauba Plus has been getting a number of positive reviews. Did you find it easy to apply and remove? Did you like the look it gave your car?

And do get yourself a bottle of car shampoo (Gold Class would be a good candidate). You don`t want to strip off the wax after all the hard work you have put into your car. :2thumbs:

If you like Meguiars products get Megs Ultimate Wash and Wax for car wash soap. Meguiar`s Direct Meguiar`s Ultimate Wash & Wax (http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+G17748)

for LSP I really like #21 sealant or NXT tech wax for it`s durability, especially if applying after a good clay bar treatment.

Thanks, Akimel. Definitely using car shampoo in between washes, dish soap was to take any remaining wax off from a few months prior to this.

As for the wax, Since the product was fairly new and I didn`t use the predecessor before, I cant really compare the two.

Very smooth application, Nice shine and coconut scent. removal was pretty easy, very little dust. But I really liked after is the feel, felt like a nice thick buttery layer. Well see how long it lasts...cheers

Depends on who you ask. Manufacturers use different technologies.
