Why do so many use 845 over the 476. I have both products but last fall I used the 476 X2 for winter and it held up fantastic and kind of gave the look over FK 1000P but lasted much longer . It was a glossy thick look .

I am ready to wax again and am a little confused over which one would work the best and why people choose 845 over the 476. I know the obvious that 1 is paste and 1 is liquid.

My vehicles are silver metallic and med. gray metallic.

Thank you :)

ease of use ... 476 can be a PITA to use. 476 lasts a little bit longer though. 845 lasts a good time too.

And 845 is more trim-friendly than 476S, though the latter isn`t all that bad (in that regard) either.

Fallguy-I myself would lean towards 845 on the silver and 845 topped with 476S on the gray.

Ease of use for me. I like to wax via PC, and it`s a lot easier to do with a liquid wax (although Collinite is a thick liquid). I`ve never tried 476, but I`d imagine it`s like most other paste waxes. Just easier to use a liquid via PC IME, and I still get exceptional durability out of 845, so I just stick with it.

You mean very runny thin liquid...

If your 845 is a thick liquid, you didn`t shake it up properly.

I couldnt make up my mind which of the two to get so I bought both,I use both, however I put one coat of 476 then a coat of 845.Hey I have them both so why not use them. Now I do tend to use the 845 more often after the initail winter detail, and I think its just easier to use.

476 is awesome, might want a microfiber bonnet to save your arm though

did you get the typical `476 mystery haze` after the 2nd coat....

after about 2 weeks of looking at the haze i finally used megs #21 on the hood, and that took care of it.

now water doesnt even come near the hood, it deflects off at about 2 inches from the surface :2thumbs:

845 is a great wax. I used to use both 476 and 845 and found that putting 1 coat of 845 then following with 1 coat of 476 makes the 476 super easy to remove

I call that haze "pseudo-holograms" and it`s one of the reasons I often top my 476S with 845, which takes care of it the same way your #21 did. I thus end up with my "Collinite sandwich", i.e,. 845/476S/845.

Ehh. I know what you mean, but I still "consider" it a thick liquid. And sometimes I just can`t get it to that super runny consistency, no matter how much I shake. And trust me, I shake it hard and shake it long.
