I do drive a 97 grand prix gtp.

Which i thought i did a pretty good job taking care of for being a daily driver with 128,xxx miles. And i only used OTC stuff.

But my OCD did happen to take control of me even more and bought a PC. then more stuff.

this is what the car looks like as well.

oh and do remember please that i work at a sand plant where actual sand is blown around all day. I drove the car there for several months. (well i am only saying this now lol)

but i just did a small part to see what i could do on it and it did change it but i was looking for a new paint look(i know i wouldnt get it since this is my first time)

i washed the car with ONR. Dried. with DI water. all in the garage.

and i need to get better taking pics lol

I used M105 yellow ccs pad then M205 white ccs pad. I think they are 5.5 or 6inch pads and i now know i need smaller.

Then finished with some dodo juice purple haze.

any tips or recommendations for the car?

please be easy on me, im a beginner to the PC

Looks good, you got some sun shots which really show you what is going on. I think when it gets to the point you are at you just gotta go for an improvement. Your car has a lot of miles so bringing back some of the gloss and removing good chunk of the swirls is a good bet. I always got hung up if I could not remove everything and it set me back, sometimes it just isn`t worth it.

Nice work!

One thing to remember is that you can`t drive yourself crazy going for a 100% correction when the car is your daily driver. Even an 80% correction is going to really look stunning.

Looks good for your first try -- keep up the good work!

Looks like hazing/pitting from 105/yellow and straight to 205. I bet if you go 105/orange and bring it down to 205/white and see what you get from that. You may need to clean up with something like 85rd or FPII after 205. To go from 105/yellow down to 205/white this is typical results. Looks good though! You`re getting there, just takes time and practice.

Double washed with ONR with DI water.

Alky wipe down.

Went over it with my Porter Cable with a lake county CCS yellow pad and Meg`s 105

Then switched to a white pad and meg`s 205

Then switched to a black finishing pad with the Megs` 205.

Then one coat of dodo juice purple haze around the sides and hood and trunk.

Two coats of dodo juice hard candy on the roof and pillars and mirrors.

Another coat of hard candy on the sides,.

Another coat of purple haze on the rear bumper and trunk/spoiler.

all in all it took probably 10 total hours or more.
