2008 Range Rover Sport. Regular customer (washes mostly) was having work done on his garage and had to leave his Rover outside. Neighbor next door has their deck refinished on a windy day,, covering the Rover with overspray. My customer asked if that was something I could take care of and after claying and then polishing part of the hood and the right front fender, not only was he convinced I could remove the overspray but also finally understood what I meant by paint correction. I`ve been trying for 2 years to get him to have me remove the swirls from this Rover (he bought it used with around 2500 miles on it) but he always said it was shiny enough for him. Now he could plainly see the difference and liked what he saw.

I started off with an ONR wash and Opti-Clay, which did a good job flattening out the overspray and making the paint smooth but it wasn`t completely removing it. I had to polish the rest off, mostly using Optimum Hyper Polish, along with Optimum Hyper Compound on the hood (mostly for swirl removal purposes).

No problem picking up the swirls with my camera but not much luck picking up overspray on metallic paint!

After using Optimum Hyper Compound with my Meguiars G110 and an orange 5.5" Erasure cutting pad:

Followed by Hyper Polish, again via G110 and another 5.5" orange Erasure pad:

A couple half `n half shots:

A couple more before and after shots using just Hyper Polish/G110/Erasure orange

Almost completely removed the scratches...

I used a razor blade to remove the overspray from the glass, however, on the windshield, I had to polish off the remainder using Hyper Polish-which wiped off very cleanly, no oily residue or smearing. Also used OHP on the black plastic A and C pillars as well.

After polishing, I protected the paint with Clearkote`s Carnauba Moose.

First! Great job, Scott.

Too bad the overspray had to happen for the owner to get the correction done, and a shame it wouldn`t photograph well, but the results are very clear.

How does CK Moose handle application in the sun, any problems?

Nice looking flakes on that Rover!

You should find out who the company was that did the deck, and just follow them around passing out business cards to the neighbors! :)

CMW is a breeze in any temperature, sun or shade. Utterly goof proof at 32 and at 105. :)

i can work in the sun with no problem but can`t get results at clay, compound, polish in straight sun , it just put me behind few steps to correct just the try.

i will catch you one day in action and ...learn :2thumbs:

great results with optimum , i will give it a try soon.

thank`s for sharing
