Are you asking if you can remove pitting from wheels with clay?

no im asking what exactly does it do? i know on teh body if there are rust spots it takes alot of the color bleed away the brown rust color will it do that on the wheels? what benifits are there from running a clay bar on the wheels?

Many wheels are painted, just like the car body, so you would discover the same benifits you would from claying your hood: a clean, uncontaminated surface ready for polishing or LSP.

I clay wheels regularly.

Generally, clay glides along on a film of lube until it bumps into some above-surface contamination, which it then shears off. Used more aggressively, it basically just abrades away whatever it`s rubbed against.

If those sound like what the wheels need, then sure, go ahead and clay `em.
