Guess I`ll get the Ferrari out of the way since it was a basic job, really my only basic job now that I think of it.:woot:

If I forget something it`s cause I did most of these cars months ago... just fyi

This is a 2004 Ferrari 575. (one of my favorite F cars btw)

Pretty simple, I`ve detailed this one before and the owner takes very good care of it.

Very basic detail job, more of a maintenance job.

My process:

Interior:

1 Thorough dusting of all panels, cracks, vents, rubber moldings etc.....

2 Vacuum all carpets, matts, seats and crevices

3 303 Aerospace wipe down on all panels and leather seats

4 Zaino Z10 Leather conditioner on AAALLLLLLLL the leather panels, seats, dash, center console, doors, steering wheels and roof liner. Basically anything you can see that is leather was cleaned and conditioned.

5 Rewipe any areas not leather that I may have smudged with leather conditioner. :wall

6 Windows cleaned with Stoners Invisible, 2 MF towels, (1 cleaner and 1 dry)

Even on such a small interior that was very clean to begin with took me just over an hour to make an improvement but I know the owner will love the look and smell afterward.

Now that I look for the interior pics I realize I didn`t take any pics of the interior.... bummer.

But I do have some pics of the exterior.

Exterior Process:

1 Tires with a long handle brush, Rims with a mitt, Wheels Wells with a long handle brush , Inner Rim Drums with a MF short handle brush, Lug Nuts with lug nut 3 prong cleaner and Back side of spokes with a mitt, all cleaned and rinsed, then after the whole car I dry the rims with a leaf blower and a Zaino Z8 wipe down.

2 Prerinse and wash half the car at a time

3 3 Bucket wash system with 2 mitts (1 bucket for wheels)

4 Rinse again

5 Dry with electric leaf blower

6 Gloss It QD wipe down to remove any possible spots

7 Windows cleaned with Stoners and 2 MF towels

8 Rims wiped down with Zaino Z8

9 Door jambs wiped down with Zaino Z8

10 Tires dressed with Megs Hyper Shine 2:1 ratio

11 Car sealed with Zaino Z5 applied with a black pad on the PC ROB at speed 2500-3000 opms

12 Another wipe down with dry MF towels.

13 Exhaust touch up. It was not really black at all, just wiped it down with a MF towel.

Pull back out of the garage for a couple glamor shots.

Okay this next one I have to confess, I can take no credit for it. I believe Jason did the whole thing while I was working on an M3. I honestly don`t remember if I did any of it or not, I may have helped a tiny bit, maybe Jason will chime in and remind me.

Process is basically the same as everything I just typed in with the Ferrari with the addition of the claybar treatment and I`m not going to retype all that so if you want to know the process reread the above interior/exterior process.

The car is a 2009 Mercedes S63 AMG, it has been debadged in case you`re wondering.

Some exterior shots for your viewing pleasure.

This is one of my favorite MB`s as well, very easy on the eyes, has some serious speed, and extreme luxury inside. Possibly the perfect car except it has back seats.

Next up is a sweet 1992 red NSX.

I believe it has a tinted clear coat which is basically a little red paint in the clear coat so it does bleed a little but not nearly as much as SS paint will.

This process was a 1 Step Polishing with the PC.

Same process as all the above`s but with a polishing step included.

1 orange pad, M105 with some good down force, this cleaned up the paint to a surprising 85% swirl free. It did a very good job and finished down well enough, there was no hazing or dull spots at all. I was very surprised at the improvement.

2 when doing a 1 step, I always rewash the car to remove lube build up as well as any compound dust.

3 Also a good idea when doing a harsher 1 step is to wax/seal the paint with the PC and a white pad with a good AIO first to help improve the clarity a bit.

I went over it with a white pad, ZAIO on speed 3.5

4 another white pad with Z5 at speed 3.

After those steps the paint looked 100% perfect for being 18 years old.

I think I spent a total of about 7 hours on this one.

Sorry for the lack of before and 50/50 shots, when doing this car I had no intentions of doing a write up so it is what it is.

Here are some after pics.

Pretty crappy sun pics but these are the best sun pics I could get, just can`t control that part.:grinno:

This is the first Red NSX I`ve ever detailed. I have detailed at least 6-7 NSX from old to 05 models and all black until this one, so I was very excited to finally detail a non black NSX. I know crazy huh.:wow:

Too bad the sun wasn`t out to play, this baby was hot hot red.

Next up on the list is an absolutely beautiful 1956 Corvette.

This is what I dream about owning one day. Maybe a different color though.

I did a full correction, 14 hours total on this car, hand polishing the dash for about 2 hours, last year but it was cold out and the hard top shell was still on it so now that it was nicer weather he wanted to bring it back and have the waterfall polished to match the rest of the flawless paint.

So I rewashed it and polished out the waterfall and resealed all the paint again with Z5.

A few sun pics showing the waterfall now in the same shape as the rest of the car. Probably another 2-3 hours added totalling around 17 hours total on this tiny piece of American ingenuity.

Next up again.....

1966 Jaguar E-type.

This was my first E-type so I was very excited to take care of such a great car.

The owners contacted me to get it professionally cleaned up since it was about to head out on some big national tour.

So after discussing what they really wanted done for the money, we settled on a wash, clay, AIO and sealant, but wanted a significant amount of time spent on the wire spoke rims as well as clean up the engine bay.

I could have easily spent 4 days on this beautiful car but only had one full day to do what I could to make it show presentable with no paint correction..... not really possible but I`d give it my best shot.:grinno:

After a cautious 3 bucket wash, clay and drying, the hood was raised and engine bay cleaned.

Basically I washed the underside of the hood and wiped it down with Zaino Z8. The engine got 303 wipe down to say the least.

these are all afters.

The interior was done first and was actually the worst part of the car. They mainly keep the top down and in so doing build up a lot of dust and particles in between all the cracks and everywhere.

I spent around 2 hours in this interior, much of that just dusting, vacuuming and wiping down to try to bring the red back out of these original leather skins.

They turned out nicely. After fully cleaned to my liking, I used Zaino Z10 leather conditioner which really made them stand out nicely with a dull glow. After the owner saw it she said, "where have you been all my life", I took that as a rather satisfactory compliment. Hopefully they`ll have me back to take care of there old Ferrari Daytona, we`ll see.

back to the car. Interior after pics

I wish I really would have taken some before pics, it really was a train wreck (looked like they drove it threw a beach) but I just did not have time to document everything on this one. Too much to do and too little time.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/Joshvette/Detailing%202010/66%20Jaguar%20E%20type/DSC05302.jpg

The rims also turned out nicely. I had to talk with the owners and figure out how much time they wanted to pay for with the rims cause I could easily spend 24 hours on each of them, so they decided around 1 hour total for all 4. I ended up about 1 1/2 hour total on the rims, I had to sacrifice a lot of meticulous cleaning to make it in that time frame, so it was kind of a trade off, time equals money.

They turned out okay, I`m not overall happy with the results, but you can only do so much when you`re on a strict time limit.

Nice, I love the E-Type also. The Corvette is also pretty sweet. Come to think of it, I would drive any of those cars.

Crazy collection of cars there Josh...beautiful work. The NSX turned out spectacular, especially given the short amount of time.
