Okay I`ve got this client, called me in a total panic. They used a towel to cover up the "white/bone" leather seats so they didn`t get blue jean transfer. Somehow a red blanket was used and now the seat is pink! I spent quite a bit of time trying to clean it, to get ANY kind of reduction. Used just about everything from Leather Masters to Leatherique. I have one more option, I`m going to try. What do you Leather gurus think?

I have NEVER had to tell a client I couldn`t make an improvement, this really kills me.

How about steam??

That`s a toughy.

I`d at least tell them to use a white towel next time?

woolite 10:1 and a steamer might give you some decent results.

Have you tried alcohol? tell your clients to drink a lot of it and they won`t even notice the pink leather....

seriously though rubbing alcohol used cautiously could help. I`ve gotten red ink out of leather with it.

The only luck i had when had to clean white leather on a lambo. was the vapor steamer a friend let me use.

Since then that is all i use went brought one and never looked back it took the black an gray dye marks right out no chemicals needed.

Down fall i spent like 3000.00 on the steamer but hey think what the leather would have cost lol hope this helps.

try some commercial cleaning supply shop. They would have special cleaners just for red. I am lucky to have one very near by my shop. They have something for synthetic as well organic red stains.

Central California Cleaning Supply (http://www.cccsupply.net/)

best of luck!

I tried Steam at the end with a cleaner, no go.

Inks and Dyes are different and this dye has been on the seat for about a month. Red dyes are small in size, and I fear this is going to have to be restored, and re dyed.

Detail Addict: Interlink sells Leather Master, I used all of LM cleaners with no luck

Josh: I was about to use the Alcohol method, as I was bummed!

Jake: Woolite just made the leather smell good.......

Razr: I tired steam/chemical combo, nothing. I tired steam on last as heat usually sets dyes. I also only did it on a very small area as a test.

Cheers,

GREG

Have you tried using a knife yet??

seriously though, sorry to hear of the bad news, I`m trying to lighten up the thread a little as I`ve had issues with cars like this that I couldnt` fix and it makes you feel like crap.

Ouch Greg - Alot worse than I thought. The video made my skin crawl when it panned in on the lower front section.

Where is Roger with his aqueous solution? LOL. I`d actually ping him as he seems to know stain removal better than anyone when it comes to leather.

The sky isn`t falling. If alcohol doesn`t remove it, then it would be a simple job to refinish it.

Yakky: I`ve made Contact with Roger Koh and am getting some stuff to try.

Quality Leather: I fear that will be the end result, but I want to try Rogers ideas. Do you know of anybody in Utah I should seek out? This is a world class client and I want to help them.

Cheers,

GREG
