Ok, I need help. I have a car that is supercharged and being supercharged it has to be tuned a bit rich. My chrome exhaust tips turn black over night because of the rich exhaust fumes. It`s almost impossible to remover. I`ve tried never dull, bug and tar remover, etc. Any ideas???????????

what kind of car? Not always do they need to be running overly rich though depending on the car etc . . . . sometimes it could be to rich that the spark plugs are not burning off everything but anyways . . . . .

some for of lubrication and #0000 steel wool.

Beautiful before and afters Riktar.

There are all kinds of sealers out there.

Right now I have been using up my Master Formula sealer until my Rolite gets here today.

Simichrome and steel wool #0000 would work great and if you have FK 1000p use that to seal.

Riktar, were those pics taken after using just the steel wool and mag cleaner? Did you ever use a sealant?

For chrome Deep Chrome polish works very well. I was using it on my stainless tips for a while too.

On my stainless tips I use OMP and I just recently tried Collonite Metal wax on them last night. It is supposed to offer protection as well as clean them up. Time will tell what protection it offers.

BTW, my car is aftermarket supercharged (VW R32) so I know what you mean about the tips turning black. I just wash them with a microfiber at every wash (~once a week) and hit them quick with a metal polish every few weeks.

On really heavy built up stuff, I will use NvRDull and or step up to the #0000 steel wool with glass cleaner for lube. I try to stay away from steel wool unless it`s really heavy.

Good luck. Soemthing should clean it up well.
