I`m a car fanatic and enjoy cleaning my own when I have the free time. Ironically enough my wife loves using a steam cleaner for the floors. So needless to say I thought now would be a good time to research `em. After reviewing many decent steam cleaners I keep coming back to the VX 5000 (Steam Cleaner - Steam Cleaners - Vapor Cleaner - Commercial Steam Cleaners (http://www.steam-cleaners-direct.com/)).

I`d like to pick some people`s brains on this forum since it appears many use this steam cleaner (VX5000) - do you feel my wife would like to use this around the house as well? Cleaning the floor, grout, refig, stove & etc.? Would you recommend this product for both auto & house use?

I appreciate your time and help in advance.

Sincerely,

Lance

I am very interested too. Anybodys experience would be greate.

I have narrowed the choices down aswell. I am really liking the fact that the Desiderio can steam and vacuum at the same time. For the ones where there is no vacuum do you use a wet dry shop vac?

I`m on the same boat as you. I love working and cleaning my own vehicles. I`m not not about what steamers are good but I do know that if you want to keep the steamer working in good condition then use filter/ drinking water. It will keep you and your wife happy!

Love my VX5000! Great in the car, outside the car. Great inside the house too.

It`s best to use distilled water, as mentioned above. If not, make sure to follow the directions that come with it, to do a "cleaning" of the boiler as recommended.
