Hi,

I am going to be wet sanding a few touch up rock chips with Menzerna IP and a 5.5" Orange Pad on my 2008 Black Lexus IS 250.

1. What unigrit sandpaper should I get? 2000? 2500? 3000? I only have Menzerna IP and FFII. I don`t really want to buy another bottle of polish such as M105 or SIP.

2. Will SIP work better on removing swirls and defects than IP on my soft Lexus paint?

3. How do the griot`s orange pads compare to LC flat orange pads or a LC hydro-tech tangerine pad?

Thanks!

Intensive will correct 2000 and 3000 wet sand scratches................ but you still need the 105(sorry) 3000 is the cut to go with for spot repair on a o.e. finish.

Thanks Bob. If Intensive Polish will correct 2000 and 3000, why would I still need M105?

Also, regarding the rock chips, there are a ton of white specks/dimples on my front bumper from debris/sand/rocks, etc. I`ll do my best to touch up on those areas, which I understand will be very time consuming. Of course, that would require me to wet stand pretty much my entire front bumper, or at least a good portion of it. Do you recommend that? I really don`t want to pay for a re-spray.

I would pay the $400 for a respray...its not going to look all that great with a peppered front end that was "touched up"

Yeah, but 400 dollars is a lot considering that the car was bought brand new in 2008. I`m thinking for the little dimples, I`m going to apply touch up paint and use the Langka blob eliminator. However, for the larger rock chips, I`m going to try the wetsanding method. I`ll be polishing my entire car anyway, so that`s why I`m leaning towards wetsanding.
