Flex came today and I remember reading on here that it needed to be greased cause the factory grease is less than adequate or something and now I can`t find the thread that talked about it.

Before I put it in use, do I need to grease it and where do I need to grease it at?

Thanks

you should be fine to run it. I tried searching myself for that thread but no luck. Periodically you will want to check on it though depending on how much usage it gets and replace some of the grease. Basically like checking your cars oil and changing it.

Where does the grease need to go though? I took off the backing plate and didn`t see where grease would need to be. After taking it off I seen that felt ring and I think someone said to put some on there as well but am not 100% sure on that.

Where is that thread?

Seriously thanks to Setec Astronomy for finding and pm`ing me the link. He had to use google to find it.:cooleek:

It wasn`t the one I was thinking of but it helps anyway.

Here it is for anyone else who may want it.

it`s amazing what the search function can do sometimes... :2thumbs:

btw, if you go to AGO and type in " flex backing plate issue " there are some more threads...

Like I said I did search and so did vtech and Setec and none of us found it thru the search on here.

Thanks for wasting your time on what you could have done in the first reply.

as mentioned, do a search ( " flex backing plate issue " ) on AGO and you`ll find some more info on the backing plate and what to lube, etc. good luck...
