I use that approach on some of my matte-finished casual shoes.

I`ve used both the Meguiars and Leatherique products on shoes, gloves, a purse that my wife almost threw away, and an old antique tobacco container.

I have used my leather conditioner (Lexol and now the BMW brand) on my dress shoes - works quite well.

I`ve used Prima and Wolfgang leather conditioners, on my wife`s leather purse and leather boots. No need to ever purchase kiwi`s leather conditioner.:xyxthumbs

Lol, I`m guilty too. I tried black magic protectant on my new black shoes. It lasted maybe a day or two. Next, I`m tempted to try M40 vinyl/rubber spray, any takers on that? Also, this is just the beginning of using car care products in house for me. I`ve polished all the metal fixtures in the bathrooms and sealed everything to prevent water spotting lol. It`s definitely a funny feeling when you shut the water off and see your sink and drain sheeting off water!

If you can`t use shoe dye on car seats, then you`re not allowed to use car leather cleaner on your shoes. Makes total sense to me.

I curious about the converse -- I use Allen Edmonds leather cleaner/conditioner on my shoes and want to know if it`s possible to use it on my car seats.

If the cleaner and conditioner are leather-safe (pH 3-5); then it should clean all leather types; regardless if it’s an auto seats or shoes.

If they are good to clean the Ford King Ranch Aniline leather types, it would also be good enough to clean a delicate fine suede jacket.

All leather cleaners are made to clean, it is the side effect that we are worry about.

Be safe; check the pH value of the cleaner.
