When I bought my car used I didn`t notice the dent on the door edge. It must have been hit pretty hard because as you can see by the pictures it affected the door edge all the way to the bottom where it bulges out about half a centimeter. The door edge is comprised of multiple layers of metal that is folded, and there is a bead of sealant that runs the length of the door as well. The paint is slightly cracked, so there would be a little bit of painting/clear involved which I don`t have a problem doing myself. I do, however, have no idea how to fix the door edge dent. Here are some pictures for you dent repair studs!

give a couple PDR guys a call. Sometimes they can work magic and make it at least less noticeable.

Yup! They`re not all the same. Some guys are extremely skilled.

My father`s Grand Cherokee had the same type of dent. Two whacks with a rubber mallet and the dent was gone. Only problem was that the paint cracked from the initial dent.

Hell ya! I think i`ll give that a shot. Any tips before I go at it? Paint is already cracked. I think I can seal the paint. It actually looks like the person before me went over it with white-out or some kind of crappy white paint..looks horrible.

PDR won`t be able to repair that ... that dent is on the flange were in outer door skin meets the inner door panel. You can make it looks better if you close the door with some time of bar in that spot (slowly though) ... from your pics the paint damage is already done, but it will get worse after trying to fix it back. You might want to pick your battle here buddy ... lol

Repaint the door and blend the quarter panel.

I swear some people just don`t know how to take care of cars. The person who owned it before me must have really opened it hard into something cause that`s a serious dent for such a sturdy part of the car. Morons!!

Thanks for all the info guys!

Most likely you are screwed; but like anything else, not all PDR guys are created equal. Like someone said above, the right guy can improve it...the right guy!
