What told you you needed an interior detail? The gumballs, the fries, the smell, the stains, the cup of coffee extracted from the carpets, the sand…??? Oh you are finally getting rid of the car, I see!

<o></o>

Normally I don’t take on interior jobs as I don’t really like doing them. I had to take on this one because I like a challenge from time to time.

<o></o>

Lots of APC+ used with various brushes, Folex on the seats, 1 hour of vacuuming due to deep down crud, lots of steamer action, followed by DP interior protectant.

YUCK!!!!

I started vacuuming out this car, but there was no way I was going to be able to get all of it without taking out the seats, so they had to go! It’s a whole new world under there!

Oh you wanted more crap all over the place in all the cracks and crevices, and under ALL the seats…I got that for you

Floormats were beyond repair, I suggested just getting new ones. I took those, dry brushed, POURED APC+ on them, took a hose with a jet setting nozzle and proceeded to wash them. I swear about a cup of coffee came out! Lots of the staining was removed, but about 50% of the bigger/deeper stains remained. I let them dry.

Here we are after 6 hours on the interior. There was a lot of nook and cranny stuff cleaned up and looking good not captured, but I planned on a 3 hour clean up on the outside and interior…6 hours on the interior alone, with a wash on the outside is all I could get done in 7 hours! The car needed polishing, but it was repainted a few times and non really matched and it was oxidized pretty bad…not bad for a 300K mile 1991 honda wagon that toted 4 kids around never seeing a detail…LOL

Hands were super soar from all the scrubbing necessary, but in the end, it was rewarding as the owner was stoked to give that car away in the “new” condition instead of the “old” condition.

Fantastic turn around! Ever thought about buying some brushes to attach to your PC? It makes a world of difference on interiors, especially something that aweful!

Have you ever powerwashed floormats, because I`ve had some that were a whole lot worse than that and they came out much better, not perfect but 80% like new. I also realize that some stains just don`t come out so evey one of these types of interiors are different, but from the pics it still looks like the floomats could have been better.

All in all though, a great turn around. I`ve done plenty of interiors just like that and worse so I can feel your pain.

Holy crap.

When I see a car like that I`ve always wonder with the owner`s house must look like if the car is that bad.

Unless I`m missing something, the only pics of the floormats I can see are the befores. :nixweiss

no afters of the mats....they came out about 50-70%, but some stains remained. There was coffee/dirt/whatever FLOWING out of the mats while I was washing them with the hose!
