Flat Paint Question

I was just asked to detail a new 2010 Hemi Challenger. Its all black with the flat black sections on the fenders and hood. This is a custom ordered car and the last thing I want to do is mess it up. (1) How do I go about cleaning the flat sections of the car? (2) should all of these areas be taped off while polishing the other black?

Any recommendations would be helpful.

yes, you should tape off all those areas while polishing and waxing..an old hot rod trick to keep satin and flat paints looking good is furnature polish..i also use linseed oil on satin paint. the key is to add protection and depth without adding gloss..
