Have you ever wanted to send an email to your friends saying something like this:

"Thank you for the email joke that you forwarded to me and 35 of your closest friends. Thank you for also including the headers and email addresses from the 5000 people before me that this email got sent on to. If any of the people you sent this email to were looking for email addresses to sell, then you just provided them. I`m sure that those strange emails in my box from people I have never heard of pertaining to websites and products I have never been to or heard about has nothing to do with the fact that you send me all that crap."

I`m looking for a tactful way of telling a friend to stop forwarding on every stupid email with some urban legend that was debunked like 5 years ago to me. I`m tired of hearing about the little boy with no arms or legs who needs my help. I don`t care what Andy Rooney said or didn`t say. I don`t care what the funniest joke of the day was or how funny this or that picture of snowmen getting it on is. How do I tactfully tell this person to forget my email address unless they have a question? I`m really getting quite sick of it and I am losing my patience. I`m a fairly smooth dude, but I do have my breaking point and this chica is quickly approaching it.

all kidding aside i gave my e-mail to an old friend and from time to time i get the same crap your speaking of and with 100 other names on the e-mail. I think it is her way to let us know she is thinking about our family, so i tolerate it.

I have two emails one I try and use every day the other I check once a week at best. For just this reason, screw tact tell her to knock the crap off.

i find the worst is when someone gets the internet for the first time and sends the same emails that came out about seven years ago all over again. my all time favorite is the one where bill gates will send you $1,000.00 for each name you forward it to. :horse or the girl who is dying and some website will donate 5 cents for each name forward to for health costs. gotta love all this technoligy.

Be open and honest. Like another poster said, simply send the 1st paragraph to your buddy... tough if he/she doesn`t get it.

I frequently send out messages to people along this same line. If people insist on sending out crap, I encourage them to do so by bcc`ing, that way they are not compromising their friends email addresses.

What I have done for the past few years is anyone who carbon copies me in there e-mail was blocked from e-mailing me again, I also have about 6 years of "if you send this to 4 Friends you will have good luck" in a folder just waiting for the day someone gets under my skin....If you send me a good luck e-mail....you just might get back a whole lot more than expected...
