Hey there !

I am looking to buy some detailing creepers and my main conflict is between the Griot`s Garage Low Down Detail Creeper II:

Low Down Detail Creeper II - Creepers & Carts - In Your Garage - Griot`s Garage (http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/in+your+garage/creepers+and+carts/low+down+detail+creeper+ii.do)

Or the Racatac that I found for kind of cheap price:

www.tools.buydirectnetwork.com | Buy Direct Network - PWQ-RCT01RAC3 Racatac Kneeling Sitting Creeper (http://tools.buydirectnetwork.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_new.tpl&product_id=32405&category_id=231&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26)

Those two for the low area of the car and would like to get high rise ones too:

Griot`s Garage King`s Pneumatic Sit-On Creeper:

King`s Pneumatic Sit-On Creeper - Creepers & Carts - In Your Garage - Griot`s Garage (http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/in+your+garage/creepers+and+carts/king%27s+pneumatic+sit-on+creeper.do)

Or the one from Sears the Craftsman Creeper Seat, Mechanics Adjustable:

What do you guys suggest me to buy?

Every post would be more than appreciated !! =)

Eliran- IMO this is gonna be pretty much all about personal preferences. That said...

I wouldn`t buy *any* of those.

For creepers, I like pretty simple ones, the old-fashioned "lie on `em" style. I use these during *EVERY* wash and I find it very comfortable to lie on my back/side when doing lower areas. Whether washing, polishing...whatever, that`s the way *I* like to do it.

No sitting very low in a "tractor seat style" creeper for me, I don`t like the way my legs end up, just not comfortable for me and on *LOW* vehicles I don`t always want my feet straight out in front of me anyhow. I`d rather have a plain cushion with *no* back as it`s a) less confining with regard to how you position yourself, b) more comfortable (for *me* at least), and c) easier (again, for me) to find the right position to feel really stable especially when bending/leaning/applying pressure during all the weird stuff you end up doing in the course of a detail.

The rac-a-tac seems popular, but NO bicycle-style seats for me, and the one I tried just felt awkward. Admittedly I just spent a little time on it, but that was plenty for me.

I use two old-style Griot`s creepers (heh heh, glad I bought mine before they "improved" them). Simple things that don`t impede my arm movements or body positioning when I`m sitting/lying on them. Note that some of the fancier creepers on the market today have high sides that you`d have to reach up over.

I have two seats- one is of fixed height with a rectangular pad (no seatback) and the other is one of those round-seated up/down adjustable ones.

Noting that I`m a sucker for buying equipment, I can honestly say that those four units have me 100% satisfied whether doing something quick during a wash or spending ages on them in the course of a full detail. I do have a gel-filled pad to kneel on for quick jobs, but getting up/down isn`t as big a deal for me as it is for some people.

I personally have been using the Racatac for polishing . I really glad I did . I also have a non adjustable seat that I use for doing extended work on the wheel and wells. I tried a regular creeper for polishing and found it un comfortable.

hahah =)

I heard so many good things about the racatac but my main concern is if to buy the griot`s low down profile or not since I really dont know if it will satisfy my needs as I want it to be.

Does someone has any experience regarding the Griot`s Low down Creeper?

And about the regular creeper, would you take the one from Sears or the one from Griot`s?

Thanks guys !

I bought this one from northern tool. It was $19 in the store-

Mechanics Adjustable Seat | Shop Seats + Stools | Northern Tool + Equipment (http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_375713_375713)

I LOVE it! I plan to screw some cuzzie style cup holders to the bottom to hold my various ketchup style bottles of product ( I buy in gallons for some stupid reason). That way they are held in place but not rock solid.

The chair was very cool when detailing my Mcoupe and i could see it as very useful on a suburban.

It goes up and down about 10" which allows me to get the first 20" of a hood down to the lower section of doors. Well worth $20.

I`d have to see pics to know if it`s the kind *I* like.

The Griot`s one in my catalog is called the "Cadillac of Creepers VII". I am 100% certain that I`d simply *HATE* it for detailing work. And I do mean "hate" with as much emphasis as is possible to express.

Those are pretty insane on what they want for them. Just go to your local parts store and you can find them for like $25 or less. I got mine at Murray`s Discount Auto. It has a round cushioned seat and hydraulic seat adjustment.

Mine`s just like the one YeboGoGo posted with a different tray under it.

Thanks for the tip but since I dont live in USA, I am looking to get a really good quality creeper and would not have to problem to pay for that.

Thanks for the suggestion but this one looks really uncomfortable and its look the same as the Craftsman rounded creeper which I tried before but was really unsatisfied with it.
