What would be the process to go about fixing and refinishing a slightly curbed wheel? (aluminum)

My best guess would be to sand w/ real rough sandpaper, followed with a higher0grit. Then use some kind of metal polish. Then reclear?

I`m painting a spare set of wheels I have, leaving the lips polished. I was going to lightly wetsand the lips of all the wheels, polish, and then clear the entire wheel together. I would like to smooth out some of the curbed areas of the wheels in the mean time too.

It might be best to contact a wheel refinishing company as see what their process is in refinishing. If you can duplicate that on your own , then do it.

I actually found an article on here shortly after posting that had a decent write-up. I don`t know if it will work for what I`m trying to do or not since the article was about repairing a painted wheel, but I got some good ideas from it.

BUT any input from anyone else is GREATLY appreciated!!
