Hey guys I have a quick question. A friend of mine just recently purchased a `98 corvette, black, I have not seen it yet, but he said it has sit outside for most of it`s life and hasn`t been waxed in years. He says the clear is not peeling off or nothing and still has shine. Has anybody got any clear coat micron readings from a `98 corvette they wouldn`t mind sharing? Thanks a lot!

Readings will change from car to car, so another car`s measurements won`t help. If you have your own meter measure the inside of the door panel or under the hood, anywhere the clear wasn`t shot at the factory, then measure the paint. The difference will let you know how much clear is left.
It is possible for a 11yr old car to sit outside and the clear be perfectly fine, then again a car can sit outside for 2yr in the right environment and have failure. Too many factors here. Take some pics if you can and post them up for some of the experts to look at, they`ll let you know what they think.
