I found these two pieces in the box. I have no idea what they are for. Are they weights? What do they do? Where do they go?
Thank you in advance.

How often do they need to be replaced? Is there a DIY on how to replace them?

I got it on sale at Autogeek for $79.99. It was a good deal, and I needed something smaller for head light restoration and tight spots.

That put me over the edge. I have their pneumatic 3" and while it does get in tight spaces, it uses a lot of air and I doubt it has the torque their new ones do (though I`d bet it is better than the 1st. gen.) The Metabo was a consideration, but it doesn`t sound like it has much more grunt than the previous Griot`s 3".

I just used mine today and it seemed to work very well. Let us know what you think of yours.

Look at the Griot`s v1 and the Metabo SXE400 side by side and the only difference I can discern is the color. They`re both anemic and you lose rotation with anything even approaching moderate pressure.
Santa`s bringing me a Griot`s v2 :chuckle: Anydoy wanna buy a slightly used Metabo? :D

When the brushes go bad you will get sparks out of the air vents on your polisher.

Eh, different polishers behave differently, so it`s not *always* a sign that things are going bad. My one Cyclo did that for *years* and when I finally sent it in for a rebuild they said it didn`t really need it (I had `em do it anyhow).

Does yours?
It only began happening after I sent it in to have the cord replaced.

Well...not that I`ve noticed, but I`ve only used my replacement unit once since I got it.
I`d call Griot`s up and see what they say.
