I agree that Tarminator is my go to product for Tar and bug removal. Another good product for tar removal is 3M Adhesive Remover

Shop 3M: 3M Adhesive Remover Catalog Number 6041, 24 fluid oz (http://www.shop3m.com/62466749306.html?utm_term=3m+adhesive+remover&WT.medium=cpc&utm_campaign=1288&WT.term=3m+adhesive+remover&utm_content=507828390&utm_source=google&WT.mc_id=shop3m-ppc-google-1288-Adhesives&WT.campaign=1288&utm_medium=cpc&WT.content=507828390&WT.source=google&cshift_ck=1560940799cs507828390&WT.srch=1)

Tarminator. Clearly the winner in the tar category. Bug are easy, road tar is not. It excels in both.

how`s einszett Anti-Insekt Pre-Cleaner? Claims it won`t remove wax.

I guess I should have asked before I ordered it....

Other- I usually use Sonus green clay so I don`t have to re-LSP.

IF it`s so bad that I have to re-LSP anyhow, I usually just use some solvent like CleanSolve/3M Adhesive Remover/New Car Prep, but that hardly ever happens.

heh heh, I bought some too, but I never got around to trying it out and now that it`s Autumn I don`t have any bug problems :nixweiss

The 1Z Einszett Anti-Insekt Pre-Cleaner works great for removing Bugs. I get alot of Bugs on the front of my truck and the Anti-Insekt is great to use because it will not remove the wax on the paint. I barely ever get any Tar on my truck but when I do The Stoner Tarminator works great for removing the Tar.

Great thread. I`ve always been up in the air about using one of these because I thought they were to strong chemically.

BTW, anybody tried OPT`s glass towel to remove bugs - they say it will work to do that on their website?

My vote goes to Tarminator .... it`s widely available, cost effective, and works well on both bugs and tar.

PB`s Bug Squash is OK for bugs, but not as good as Tarminator for tar or other grime.

I`m always  that so many people use a solvent to remove tar...after everthing I go through to get my LSPs just right I sure don`t want to have to redo them unless it`s absolutely necessary. Redoing six/more layers of a sealant would mean pulling the vehicle off the road for roughly a week, can`t see doing that over some tar :nixweiss

Heh heh, that`s why I bought mine. Hope it does work out that way :nervous:

That sounds like "scrubbing" the paint with a no/low nap material, I`d worry about it grinding the bug guts into the paint and causing marring.

In my case and I suspect many others, the context is usually as part of a complete client detail These vehicles typically need to be de"grunged", polished, and then have LSP applied.

I agree...for my personal vehicle that wasn`t going through a complete detail I would probably take a different approach.

Ah, yeah...I tend to lose sight of that :o

I just picked up a bottle of PB`s Bug Squash to try as an alternative to Tarminator. Tarminator is hands down the best product I`ve used, but I use so much of it that it gets a little expensive.

Sonus green clay for me, too, unless I know I`m going to redo the LSP, then I will break the Tarminator out.

Hmmm, gotta try the 1Z stuff.....
