Scottwax, you are a genius. ONR then using clay is such a timesaver. I use hot water for the ONR so I just throw the clay into the water, keeps it nice and pliable, I think it even makes it more tacky.

I`ve been thinking about this since I saw it on here the other day. Very good Idea :)

Claying along with ONR is a huge time saver. Just go one panel at a time, ONR, clay, ONR again and then dry. HUGE time saver and works great!!

MR detail shop, why the second ONR after the clay?

some clays will leave residue that is best washed off

I`m really looking forward to doing this, I can see how this would save tons of time!

Thanks enforcer, wondered if that might be the case.

ONR can still save time too if you`re doing a standard wash. I just wash the entire vehicle, rinse it well, and while it`s still wet, use ONR at detail concentration while claying, then rinse the vehicle one more time.

FWIW, I used Meguiars and had no issues, well except for a few times where I let the clay get a bit dry, but that was user error.

I always wash again after I clay, most of the time there is clay residue left behind, if you are looking for the best finish take the extra few minutes and wash again. Especially if you use ONR it takes a total of 5 extra minutes.

I assume you guys are waxing right after the ONR/Clay/ONR, right?

Not all the debri that gets loosened by clay/lube gets absorbed by the clay, especially if the surface has a lot of debri. Thus, it is best to wash it again, IME.
