So I got some collinite in the mail and it appears to be frozen because it should be a smooth liquid right? Is it still good once its thawed out? I got it from autogeek so if it is frozen should I just contact them for a new bottle?

its not frozen you just have to shake the hell out of it.

Open the top and push the gooped crap down and shake the hell out of it. It should liquify after a true shake and i mean SHAKE THE HELL OUT OF IT!!!

There are a number of threads on the 845 "liquification" method.

Here`s one: http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/79284-collinite-845-how-thick.html

They`re a little hard to find because they frequently have "IW" in the title which you can`t search on.

I thought the same of mine when I got it, but after a really good shake, it turns very liquid and easy to spread.

Some suggest heating it up, or running warm water over the bottle, etc.

But shaking it will liquify it.

I always put mine out in the sun for about 10 minutes and then shake the hell out of it,

Yep, just keep shaking, it will get as thin as whole milk, its kinda crazy. If you let it sit for a while, it solidifies again.

heat up a cup of water. let the bottle sit in the hot water while you wash the car and then you only have to shake a little bit.

just out of curiosity.....want to ask how long everyone leaves 845 on the car before buffing it off. Also how long do you usually wait between layers?

i do half the car via PC at speed 3 and then buff off before doing the other half. I usually add a layer the next time i do an ONR wash.

speed 5 application, do the whole car, and wipe it off after! I never double layer it as I hardly have time left in the day!

I apply 845 by hand and do the whole car in one shot, relax for a few minutes, make sure thw whole car is hazed and wipe off. Since it is a wax there is no need to wait between layers.

Shake the crap out of it.....like the bottle says (without the word "crap"....although that addition would be most appropriate :) I think I`ll forward Collinite that idea!).

Apply by hand.........it`s so soft and easy. Do the whole car and wipe it off.

Is it really faster (or better) to use the PC???? Just curious as to the differences??? Anything significant? And you use a blue or red pad........as big a diameter as the PC can handle???

Thx.

See ya. :wavey

...Since it is a wax there is no need to wait between layers...

Yes, a wax with a considerable amount of synthetic components...

so it`s similar to the thickness of CMW but needs to be "shaken" like VM....

nice, good to know.... i will be ordering some..... now that it is getting into the winter months, should i be worried about it being delivered and left outside in sub 32 degree weather ?
