Is steam cleaning the exterior of the car safe for the paint? Is it the next enviro-friendly trend?

I`ve seen several companies selling steam car washes. What is you opinion on this?

It depends on how hot it is whether or not it could damage anything. I`d assume steam cleaning would produce more marring than a no rinse wash because you`d still have to wipe it down.

It would sure take your LSP off in a heck of a hurry.

what he said ^

but if you did a steam clean on the exterior, you could steam clean most of the grime away until it looks like clear water rolling off, and then come back with a waterless wash or no rinse wash with good results i bet.
