Er...your before pictures seem to be of the roof but your afters are of the trunk? `84 would have been the early days of clearcoat, but whether that is BC/CC or SS, that is some sort of paint failure.

The after is the trunk - in my excitement i forgot to snap a picture - lucky for me the roof looks the same.



at any rate - any thoughts on the work?

You did the best you could on a car with clear coat failure.

Yes, it`s much improved, but IME that will last for about a week before it`s pretty much back to looking the way it did before you started.

i could spray some clear over it . . . it is a project car any way, so i might experiment and see what happens.

Unfortunately, there`s not much you can do once the clear coat fails like that.



Trying to spray more clear over it is going to be a exercise in frustration. You`re better off reshooting the whole panel and blending it with the rest of the car.
