Well while Arron has been busy with his new twins and a busy factory, he has found time to work on the Edge 2k PC adapter. The old adapter was thought to be two long and caused too much vibration. Also a new way of holding the part together was found a “”chemical weld”” better the loc-tight was used and there should be no problems with the unit coming apart. I haven’t used this yet but will tomorrow as I worked 50+ hours in a row and really want some sleep.

The pictures are from old to new.

Arron did send me this to check out but i will say I normally use my rotary with the edge 2k pads

do you use a crescent wrench to take your adapter on and off? If so then I`ll trade you your new adapter for a PC wrench. :) I`ve been using the Edge 2000 system all year due to all of my cutting pads falling apart and being too lazy to buy new ones. I`ve always been a big fan of the system though. I never really thought much about the vibration. It seems pretty normal to me. I`ll definitely be getting one of these new adapters if they think it is an improvement. Thanks for telling us about that!

Appreciate the post, info and pics. I`ve got one of the now "older" adapters and will someday need to upgrade. I did get enough vibration at times that I`d be interested in the new adapter if it offers less vibration.

**************************UPDATE****************** ***************
Having Used this adapter a few times now I will say that it works nice. I can tell you it ""SEEMS"" to dampen the vibration and it works well. I will be torturing it soon and i will let you know how it goes

*****************************Second update******************************************
I have used this one a few cars now and I wll say it has less vibration then the stock pad at any speed. it`s very easy to work with and I love my edge pads.

Now as far as the adapter coming apart well My old one never did and I put my PC in the garage with a finishing pad and opt polish on a tool box. I set the speed for 4 and put 10 Lbs of wieght on the Pc to give it some bogging.

After 8 hours I had a very red pad, a nice shiny spot on the tool box at the fire house. But the adapter didn`t fail. now does this mean everyone will not fail.. nope but even backing plates fail...

has the new system for the edge pads improved. i need to get a set of pads my LC 6.5 orange pad is deteriating around the velcro , the white LC 6.5 polishing has had velco failure it has totaly fallen apart while the pad is in good conditon i no longer can use either one.

i was also looking at the LC VC pads. I noticed Dwayne has a High gloss pad i`m not Familiar w/any of the pads.I want to get a few good quality pads that someone has used .

This link to the thread is why i`m questioning the edge 2000 pads.

No one has comment on the edge 2000 so i would guess there still a problem with the quick disconnect.

Your joking you Right? He is probably joking to some extent, but also trying to point out that he isn`t on the forum as much as some of us.
We all sometimes forget that lots of members only stop by periodically. Maybe weekly, maybe even monthly. One days time isn`t very long to wait for a reponse about a product that isn`t being used by a lot of members.

Charles the question wasn`t geared directly towards any one person. anyone familliar with the above pads could have chimed in. I did a search and posted on this thread as to not start another one in regards to the polishing pads.

I don`t beleive i was acting impatient. i was trying trying to get some info on the newer pads so i can order,as of now i don`t have any to use and can not locate the megs 6.5 pads locally.I don`t know why but the autoparts stores in my area dont have the 6.5 velcro pads.
