CP Detailing...A Z4 M Coupe and an e46 M3

First off the M Coupe. I left my card with the vehicle when I saw it in a parking lot near my home with a fairly long but not so deep scratch on the side of the paint. The car had heavy swirls all over the car. For such a beautiful vehicle the poor paint condition begged for some love. About 6 months later, I finally got a chance to perform some love on the vehicle. The budget was limited, the area was difficult to detail in (literally in the middle of the forest), and the sun was cooking! Nevertheless, we tried out best to get the vehicle done in the allotted time that we had.



When I first saw the vehicle it was very clean, just swirled. When it came time to detailing it, the poor car had little brown dots ALL OVER the paint. This must have been tree deposits. They were all over the car and the clay bar was extremely slow to remove them. The average vehicle of this size takes about 1.5-2 hours to wash and clay bar...This one took 3.5 hours. This was because we had to actually run our hands over the surface of the paint to identify the "dots" then pick them off (very carefully), then run the clay bar on top to remove the remaining deposit.

After the wash and clay barring, the following was performed:

-SIP with a pfw via rotary

-106ff with a blue css pad

-ipa wipedown

-duragloss aquawax (We were really pressed for time so this was all we could muster as the owner had to leave)

All done (Remeber those wetsanding-look-a-like marks) The vehicle was brushed by somebody and it hadn`t been repaired. It was correctly nicely, with 98% of it gone, but I FORGOT to take a picture of the exact area. It was next to the M Logo on the passenger side though:

Onto the e46 M3...

I received an e-mail from a client asking for his e46 m3. We were excited dto detail the vehicle. I asked him for a preview of the vehicle and he sent me this picture:

Thankfully upon arrival there were no real issues with this vehicle except for moderate swirling and watermarks from the vehicle. When we first arrived I never would have thought the vehicle had wheels that look this good. The vehicle`s stance was amazing...just perfect! It had been tracked a few times but there were no signs of huge tar chunks like I`ve noticed on previously tracked vehicles.



The owner wanted the swirls removed but he didn`t need it perfect. He told me he didn`t want to be afraid to drive the car. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not bringing my camera for this job. It was a joy to work on this vehicle, I guess because the paint was very rewarding to a proper polishing.



Just like the Z4 M Coupe from above, we used SIP with PFW on rotary followed by 106ff and a blue css pad. After the ipa wipedown, we followed with Natty`s Paste Wax for it`s wet look appearance.



Fortunately, the owner was able to take a few pictures when the vehicle was finished (it was dusk by then), and the next morning. Here are his pics (sorry for the redundant angles in the garage):

Thanks everybody! This was certainly the first e46 M3 that I saw in this color and it really is a beautiful color. When we were done I wanted to take the car home with me. The pretty paint combined with that awesome stance made the car look great! I was even more surprised at the level of gloss this finish left. It was a very rich shine despite being a metallic color. It even had some gold flake to it in the sun. Furthermore, this had the even rarer cloth inserts on the interior. I rarely see this in the US. The leather/cloth inserts are more of a European thing.
