how to get rid of Armor-All residue?

The previous owner of my car must have really enjoyed the Armor All. I`m trying to mount the remote display for my Valentine 1 radar detector on the trim that surrounds my gauge cluster, but the adhesive for the velcro won`t stick for anything.



What can i use to rub on this plastic to get rid of anything that might be on it?



a friend suggested rubbing alcohol (90%)

A similar situation to this came up not too long ago.



I`d recommend a good APC with some MF or cotton terry towels. Rubbing alcohol can damage plastic (and it does more often than not, hence why we don`t really use it much at work and most of the time the packages come with a non alcohol based cleaner as well).



I also find Surf City Garage Dash Away to work well, and it has UV blockers in it as well.
