A friend wanted his vehicle detailed in exchange for some of his computer services, so I was happy to trade considering my computer was plagued with viruses that slowed-down its performance significantly. Unfortunately, this vehicle was brought to me during a cloudy, rainy day, so we couldn`t get any really good before shots. The sun was never out on the first day to show the typical swirls in this difficult-to-capture paint.

By far the wheels on this beauty were the best looking that I`ve seen on an Evo. With slight lowering springs the vehicle was set-off wonderfully. Amazingly, this vehicle had not been washed since JULY!!!! I expected to find heavy contamination within the paint, as well as significantly stained wheels.

But, both areas of the vehicle were not as bad as I thought. This was probably because the vehicle was clay barred a few months earlier by the owner to remove the little rust spots that are formed when the vehicle is not cleaned for long periods of time.

Since the weather was cloudy on the first day, during the polishing process we brought the car out a few times to check it under the sun the next day before continuing on the vehicle. I knew that we weren`t going to be entirely finished with the vehicle until night time, I took a few beauty pics of the vehicle without wax and tire shine.

Here are some of the before pics:

My favorite turnaround...the EXHUAST. Liquid brasso and 00000 steel wool applied by hand slowly but surely restored the condition of this heavily abused piece of power gains:

Before:

During: Notice the browning remaining on the paint near the exhaust

After: Poliseal by hand made easy work of the staining

When a nice layer of Collinite 476S was added for protection, these final shots were produced. It was completely dark outside and I didn`t have enough time to take more. The delicious wheels were cleaned with poliseal via pc:

wow white is such a hard color to deal with but you made that look flawless. Nice work on the entire car and excellent turn around on the exhaust. That thing was tore up

Wow. I love those cars and those wheels look amazing with the white paint. I`m not a big fan of black wheels, but that definitely looks great on that white Evo. Especially the MR edition. I`ve been looking for one that I can actually afford for years now.. Some day it will be mine! haha

By the way, what did you use on the tires? I like how they are clean and have a little shine to them but don`t have that dripping wet look. I hate having to dress tires because no matter how hard I try, the tire shine always slings up onto the paint! Any suggestions?

Tdekany...Thanks for the kind words! I hope Oregon is treating you as good as VA.

Bob...I appreciate the complement. Its amazing how small this world is. These wheels truly look wonderful on this vehicle and he got them at an insanely low price. Too bad they still rub a little bit on the wheel wells.

gmblack3a...Thanks!! I got some much needed programs in exchange for the detail so I can`t complain.

dickwitham....You should see the wheels in person...stunning

vtec92civic...White was truly a pain when it came to capturing swirls. But it came out great! My favorite turn around was the exhaust. It was slow to improve but like a fine wine it got better over time!!

HookEmHorns...The Evo is a great car. Save up and you`ll be happy. Don`t forget to consider the cost of insurance. And the 6th gear on the MR really makes it more comfy as an everyday driver. For the tires I used Black Magic Tire Wet. I`ve tried tons of different products and I always go back to this product because it does NOT sling...even after high speed runs heheehehehe. And don`t forget to give the tires a chance to dry, and don`t apply it with a brush, as that will create a thick layer that will have a higher probability to sling.
