This guy was referred to me by a guy I work with. His wife just bought this for a weekend driver and wanted to clean it up a little.

He ordered the new carpet kit from stockinteriors.com and finished it last weekend.

The carpet fit awesome from the shifter back. The front, where your feet go, gave me a lot of trouble and still didn`t fit perfectly.

The paint shined up super fast.

Interior:

-Complete Disassemble and cleaned with Versatle Citrus Cleaner

-Carpet Installed

Exterior:

-Washed with 3M Car Wash Soap

-Clayed with 3M Detailer`s Clay

-Buffed with 3M Rubbing Compound

-Polished with 3M Swirl Mark Remover

-Sealed with Race Glaze

-Topped with Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax

-White-Walls cleaned with 3M Non-Penetrating Lacquer Thinner

-Tires shined with Pinnacle Onyx

Oh boy...that`s sweet...if you squint you can see the Pinto it`s made from. Nice cleanup, and THANK YOU for removing those mud flaps. I`m glad all of those around here rusted out and went to the crusher. (hopefully Accumulator isn`t reading this)

Totally Awsome!! I love your detail bay. Very bright and roomy. I`ve never known Ford to use that silver sound deadener pads - it can`t be factory can it? I bet the seat belt bolts were a PITA to break loose too. Car seems to be in really nice shape. Was that rust on the LT rocker and LT rear bumper? Great work! Thanks for posting this.

In spite of loathing the pinto...er....Mustang II years :)

That is an incredible job.

I didn`t read everything and I apologize if I missed it, but was that the original paint? If so, it cleaned up VERY well.

Incredible job.... :woot2:

Very nice job, cleaned up really well. OMG were those some bad years for the mustang.

The car is ALL original. It only has about 60,000 miles. The story I heard was that the car was originally bought in Wisconsin by a 19 year old girl. It was her baby and weekend cruiser for the last 30 years and she just recently sold it to the current owner, who bought it for a weekend cruiser. It`s been doing a lot of sitting so she wanted it cleaned up and what-not.

The car is definitely NOT something I would buy for myself. I think it`s hideous and probably the most GUTLESS car I`ve ever driven. It doesn`t have nearly enough power to get out of it`s own way.

Thanks for the compliments!

And that`s what they considered a Sports Car back in the late 70`s too.
