Hey guys,

So I just got asked to detail a fair number of cars, all at once. I was wondering if anyone has any input as to how hard/soft the clear is on these manufacturers paints?

Lamborghini Gallardo

Porsche 997

Porsche 356

Lotus Exige

BMW 2002

BMW 325i

Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite

Lexus IS250

Mercedes Benz SLK 230

Toyota Tundra

I`d need to figure out which of these cars has a hard or soft clearcoat, so i can choose my pad and product combinations.

Thanks a lot guys!

Do a demo spot and decide.

Word. Anybody have any suggestions?

EDIT: Also, you read my mind Erik, I`ve been trying to find what type of paint companies each manufacturer uses and if there is anything to watch out for. I`d like to think since most of them are fairly modern cars that the clearcoats wouldn`t be too thin/soft.

None of the Lexus, Benz, or Tundra.

Alright well I`m better with light colors so I`ll go ahead and do those... :LOLOL

Whew, we have our work cut out for ourselves. We have to at least keep it at the current state, if not exceeding it. *shudder*

For anyone who searches, just letting you guys know that both the Lotus and the Lambo had hard clearcoats. Under fluorescent lighting I was able to polish the Lotus with M105 or Megs UC (depending where) and have an almost ready to ship finish. I followed up with Poli-Seal on an orange pad and it looked great :)

The lambo was just slight swirling, so LC orange with Poli-Seal got the finish pretty good - though I still needed spot polishing with m205 on yellow for more severe swirls.

I have no pictures of the lotus unfortunately, so you`ll have to get by on this. I`ll let Connor decide if he wants to post the other pics here
