So after months of waiting I finnaly picked up my Mossberg 590A1 9 shot standard stock with ghost ring sites. LOVE it cant wait to shoot it. Was going to get a pistol grip with adjustable stock but the extra $200 buck wasn`t worth it that and the slide release sucked to get to with the pistol grip installed. CANT WAIT TO SHOOT! I`ve had 500 12 gauge rounds waiting for it o arrive, everything from Remington buckshot 00 and slugs and federal hollow point police issue slugs, and some slug/buckshot combo ammo centurion I think its called.

Devilsown- Hope you like your Mossie...nice safety position on those.

FWIW, IMO you`re better off without the pistolgrip stock anyhow, but how does the length of pull fit you?

I agree with Accumulator, You`re way better off without the pistol grip. Where I work, our old shotguns were replaced with pistol grips and IMO they stink. I`ve hurt my wrists from falling and each year goes by, they hurt, ache and pop. So shooting a shotie with a pistol grip stock hurts.

My personally owned Benelli (M1 Super 90) has a full length stock and I love it. I wish that I could take that to work with me instead. :(

I had a Mossberg with a pistol grip and HATED it. I wound up selling it soon after I got it.

Would have been a great shotgun had I got the standard stock and I would probably still have it.

You made the better choice :2thumbs:

Its fits very very nicely, Stock is a little long for my taste but feels better and better the more I hold it. Glad I made the better choice.

Devilsown- Oh, it occurred to me later that I *think* I`ve heard about a handful of people having issues with how the last two rounds (or maybe it was the follower  ) feed in the mag...might be a burr or something...just a heads-up so you can check yours, and don`t freak if it needs a tiny tweak to run 100%.

We seem to agree about more than just pistol grips when it comes to working shotguns ;) Good choice :xyxthumbs

That`s the part I was wondering about. I have kinda short arms and I`m sometimes happier with a "youth size" buttstock, and I can even have my preferences when it comes to the fore end/pump (some "police" or "tactical" models are harder for me to reach/rack than regular "field" ones).

If you think you`d do better with a shorter one, they`re cheap enough.

Anyone know what would be a good tactical light and saddle for this thing?

devilsown- I run a SureFire light with a pressure switch, and a Tacstar sidesaddle, but mine`s an old setup and there might be better stuff available today.

Nice GSDs you have there. Heh heh, looking at your bedrail pic, for some reason I can`t help but think that one of `em will get a paw snagged in your shotguns` sling some day...

its loaded but the pipei is empty I figured the nosie would be enough to scare someone off.

I also thought about removing the sling,

I rails on the bed are from wal-mart, all they are is a over the door robe holder. they work perfect.

Yeah, IMO that`s not a bad way to keep a pump for a number of reasons.

I think I probably would in your situation. I`ve had dogs get caught in camera straps before, with predictable consequences :o

Just by looking at your pictures, I`ve figured out your home defense plan. Upon entering your home, you`re going to throw a tin of wax at the intruder and once he`s down, you`re going to beat him with your detailing binder. What an ingeneous plan!! Save ammo, no mess to clean up and hardly a sound will be made. ;)
