Today`s detail was a silver 1999 Miata. It had a scuff/paint transfer along the front fender and needed a general exterior detail.



Washed with foam gun

ClayMagic Clay entire vehicle

EO All Wheel and Tire Cleaner

Amazing Roll-Off Vinyl convertible cover



Spot correction of scuff and other small scratches around vehicle:

PC, 4" Orange Foam, HTMC, speed 5-6

Multiple passes as needed



Entire vehicle polished with:

PC, 5.5 White CCS foam, HTMC, speed 5



LSP: AJ, removed with AJT

Tires: DP tire gel

Invsible glass

303 on vinly convertibie cover

Great job fixing the scuffs and detailing a 10 year old Miata. It was hot out there this morning, so you worked hard. Looks terrific. :xyxthumbs

Thanks Sludge ... sure July and August can be brutal here but I`ll take it over the cold up north. :hifive:

from certain angles you can really see the shine, but not from direct side shots... that`s why i`m not a fan of silver.. never looks really clean or dirty. Not to knock your work in any way as the pics in the garage show more than the ones outside.



By the way... what really is the advantage of a foam gun? You still have to use something to wash to car with as far as a sheep skin mitt or whatever one may choose to use right? Just wasn`t sure about that.

I agree that particular silver color is tough to get a lot of "WOW factor".



I use a foam gun for a few reasons. It`s great for pre-soaking the entire vehicle. I find it easier to use than dragging two buckets around with me and constantly going back to the soap bucket for more suds. I also think it`s safer to hold the foam gun in one hand and supply a steady flow of high lubricity foam to carry away dirt while using the mitt in the other hand.

How did you find the miata`s paint to work with? Soft clear? It didn`t look like you had to go too aggressive with the pads.

I did not find it soft at all. However, the owner did not elect to have a deep polishing / paint correction done to remove the deeper swirls. It was just a basic detail.
