I had a local "professional" detailer (who didn`t know I knew about detailing) tell me that the only way to remove swirls&scratches from day to day wear and tear and washing is wetsanding with 1500. Of course since you can only do this 2-3x max on a car before going through the clear, he advises his clients wait 3-4yrs for dteailing, and in the meantime just wax it and cover any swirls with fillers every few weeks.

Jeebus, I can`t believe somebody out there would wetsand factory paint with 1500, over and over and over ... try an orange or wool pad first? Nah, just say screw it and start wetsanding for no reason :scared:

....just goes to show you that anyone can call themselves a "detailer". Folks really need to do some of their own footwork/research before settling on one. ....or at the very least shop around (asking questions & comparing notes in the process).
