I was reading the product description for the Zymol wash sponge and it says "Molded without paint killing silicone, this forever supple, heavyweight sponge drenches your car in soft frothy bubbles, helping you slide dirt and foreign matter away from your paint with minimum effort."

What`s paint killing about silicone?

It prevents paint from sticking if you repaint without prepping properly, that`s about it. Zaino has claimed silicone is bad since day 1.

Silicone is not bad for the paint at all, only bad for body shops. Any good body shop will wash the car off with a prep wash to get rid of any silicone. I never got the big hype over our products have not silicone as it does nothing bad to the paint, only body shops should be careful as you dont want to get fish eyes.

don`t get caught up in the description/selling point for the zymol sponge. they don`t last all that long, loses it`s shape, and are not cheap at $5 a piece. the lowes proline grout sponge is every bit as good (last a long time too) and you can almost buy three of them for the price of one zymol sponge...

It`s just marketing. Most sponges could probably say the same thing.

Why not say the same about their bottles?
