Guys, are these water spots too bad to be taken out. I have some rubbing compound and a pc but I am really afraid to do the whole hood.

There are pic of my hood. There are some on the roof and trunk lid. If you are in N.C. and think you can get these out I would be willing to pay. I dont have a yellow pad I have a orange which I thought would be enought cut with ssr 2.5. I am pretty sure I have also tried dacp with the orange pad too

I feel your pain. Have used everything that I have in my arsenal to get those spots off the side of my truck. Used a pc but to no avail.

Am watching ebay, as I write this, for a Mikita rotary. Will go thru all the SSR`s starting with the least aggressive, if I get the rotary, to try and take those spots out of my truck. Most likely will have to live with them.

Someday I will repaint. :surrender

you might be able to lessen them, but not remove them with a pc. it looks like from your pictures they have eaten through or well into the clearcoat and removing them totally may compromise the integrity of the clearcoat. You can try wet sanding a small area or get a magnifying glass with a light to see how deep they really are, but I`d guess you will have to live with some of them :ermm:

wet sanding, polishing will make them less noticable as you wear down the edges of the water etchings..

Dont want to wet sand and buff with a Porter cable as it will take for ever for the paint to look good, if you wet sand make sure to use a heavy cut pad/ compound with say ie dewalt buffer then polish..
