Can anyone provide experience with both? I really like Z8, but it is expensive (especially considering its the only Zaino product I use anymore) and FK425 offers anti-static. Would FK425 be a more economical option? Thanks,

Billy

You probably already know this, but a lot of users dilute Z8 which makes it pretty economical.

Yeah, I do too, but it`s hard to beat the per gallon prices of FK425.

Well what exactly are you looking for, a spray sealant or QD?

OCW and AW are good alternatives to Z8. 425 is a great QD though.

Edit: more comparavle in the FK line is the FX100 spray glaze/sealant. Too bad FK is out of it right now unless you can find it somewhere else

Most economical of the QD`s that really do a good job of enhancing gloss and depth after a wash or wax is OID, from my experience.

Never tried Z8. I`d say FK425 is slightly better than OID on slickness, but OID wins out on price.

Also, for everybody who complains about water spots with nubas, OID is the best QD IMO for preventing water spots. I`d use OID even if it did not enhance appearance of a nuba just to avoid the water spots.

Hi

As Dsoto87 is kinda saying, these products different: Z8 is a synthetic spray sealant. It is not a QD, it similar to say Pinnicle Souveran Spray Wax or Megs QW.

FK425 is a QD similar to Meguiars UQD, the Zaino QD is Z6.

You could not use Z8 to remove light soiling etc or as sa drying aid.

IMO, DG AW is very similar in terms of looks to Z8, and you can apply AW to a car wet when you are drying which you cannot do with Z8.

Ok, let me clarify the intended use. I use Z8 for extra wetness and slickness over other sealants or waxes. I only use it on a clean surface. I think trying to group all these products is a bit simplistic. There are shades of grey, where some can be used for cleaning, some contain durable sealant, and some do both, and some do niether well. To clarify things, let me ask this:

1) How do these two products compare in the look they add to an already-sealed surface?

2) How do they compare in the durability of that look?

3) Does the anti-static really do anything?

1. Z8 has more shine, durability than FK425, but your comparing apples or oranges.

2. Z8 by far.

3. Dunno, tried a 50/50 and they both collected dust.

What am I missing? I have never been blown away by Z8, and I am a huge Zaino fan. Especially Z5 and Z6. I think Z6 looks better than Z8.

Sounds like I should stick with Z8.

I`ve done this with Z8 and DI water 1:1. Funny thing is, I then felt I could be more liberal with it and may have used more anyway. :dig

Thank you! I thought I was the only one on this board that felt that way.
