If you polish and seal your car why wax? Is it purely for looks?

Yes, the sealant will last longer than wax, so topping with wax is usually just for the deep, warm, look that a carnauba gives.

Yep. And I like to try out as many new products as I can :D

Sealing and waxing are similar ideas. As the above posters have said, a sealant will last longer, whereas a carnauba wax will have greater depth and warmth. I`ve found sealants tend to be more reflective as well.

So there`s a visual benefit, and some would argue some protective benefit too.

Some of us (eh...well, maybe I`m alone here..) just choose between wax and sealant, using one or the other but not both.

Just be sure you’re using a actual sealant. Not everything with the word “seal” on the bottle is.

Meg’s used to call their M07 “Sealer and Reseal Glaze” before they changed the name to “Show Car Glaze”

Mothers still has a glaze with “sealer” in the name.
