First of all, let me say Thank You to Steve for arranging the group buy & Bill D & Setec Astronomy for patiently answering all my newbie questions about this new toy!!

It sat in the garage & taunted me for a week, until I could finally get all the "necessary" (in my mind only) quick connects & shut-off valve. I wanted to have the "coolest gun in the West" ;)

Today was the day!! After reviewing my notes for the umpteenth time, I filled my "customized" measuring bottle with 9 parts water & 1 part Poorboys Super Slick `n Suds & poured it into the half gallon container. It was only half full, but I figured that would give me a good start.

I wet the car down with the "fireman`s nozzle", easily removed it & switched to the foam gun. I had installed quick connects & a shut-off valve on the end of the hose to make the changes easy. I had also removed the “trigger” as I thought my hand might tire of holding it open as I soaped the car.

I set the “mix” to the second click, turned the lever on the shut-off valve & out came the foam!! The car was not overly dirty, mostly dust which had been loosened by the wet-down.

I tried out a new grey mitt I had purchased from sheepskin.com – didn’t really need it though, the foam just lifted the dirt & carried it away!!

I switched back to the fireman’s nozzle for a rinse, and moved on to the next area. When I was done, I finished with a flood rinse, dried with two PAC grey waffle weave towels & gave it a finishing touch of PB’s Spray & Gloss.

All told it took me less than 15 minutes to wash the entire car and the suds never let up. In fact, when I was done, I still had half of the solution remaining in the jar!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v422/coolchid/Foamy/dsc00079.jpg

So that means that I used only one and one-half ounces of SS’nS to wash the V!! Normally, I might be concerned that so low a concentration might compromise the effectiveness of the shampoo, but there was NO SHORTAGE of suds!!

And perhaps the greatest plus of all – words from my 18 year old "assistant" – the gun makes it “fun” to wash the car!!!

Thanks for the review I ordered one from Steve on this last go around...Did you get the quick disconnects from Home Depot....I will want those as I love the firemens hose attachment that I have.

I can`t wait to get mine looks like a good thing for winter washing so that you don`t have to have your hands in the cold water all the time.

Dave,

I bought mine @ Lowes, but I`m sure HD would have similar . . .

1 ea. Garden Plus Brass 5/8 Universal Quick Connect (SKU# 102564) @ $ 1.97 - for the Fireman`s Nozzle
1 ea. Gilmour Premium Poly Shut Off (SKU# 99470) @ $ 3.98

We threaded the Quick Connect from the Sprayer Nozzle to the end of the Gilmour Shut Off Valve.

Glad you enjoyed your first use...I only put the same ounce and a half in the jar without water and also got endless foam which my littler assisants loved to see.
Next time i will try it with the other tip and see how it works.
Also my wife also noticed how clean and spotless our bay window was with the leftover foam that I used .

So you used no bucket in this wash and dry. Just a wet mitt and your foam gun.

Do you think that a dirtier vehicle could be used in this process? An example would be....clean truck driven in the rain on a highway for a 100 miles. Return home and it is covered in road grime. At 15 minutes to wash your vehicle it maybe advantageous to have the soap gun for those quick clean ups I always seem to be doing after a rain storm here in Texas.

Wow great review Norah, I think you may have pursueded me enough into buying one now. I`ve been reading about them for quite some time, but really never know how exactly they worked. This definately seems better then the bucket wash for daily washes on our cars, not sure how it would work on a heavily soiled car though.
