I did a search but did not find what I was looking for. Maybe I am not calling it the right thing. What would be a generic name for the liquid spray lube you would use for clay bar application?

And what are some good homebrew clay bar lubes?

Most people use a quick detailer for a lube... for me 99% of the time I just use plain water.

The generic name for it other than clay lube is just `quick detailer`. Not a high end one with all levels of slickness but a cheapo would work.

as for homebrew-it`s simple. Soapy water, just like what you wash your car with will work fine as a clay lube. Personally, I like ONR QD as aclay lube because I go through roughly 24oz of `clay lube` for the average vehicle and ONR QD for the price can`t be beat.

jake hit it on the spot. sometimes ill put a drop or to of car wash soap in it but the important thing is to keep the surface wet while sliding the clay!
