So I had a paint chip in the hood of my car the other day and decided to wetsand a blob that had appeared during touch up. Then I noticed that during the sanding process I had oversanded, and unlevelness in the paint around the chip had occurrred. From here it seemed to be getting worse and worse, as the touch up paint appeared in a different tone of white, but there was no mistake with colour match. Here`s what I used:

1) Cleaned and clayed car.

2) Applied touch up to the chip.

3) Sanded with 2000 grit sandpaper (wet).

4) Applied Meg`s ScratchX by hand applicator.

5) Noticed unlevel paint around chip, and paint in chip was different tone of white.

I`ve come to the conclusion that the area I touched up might have lacked paint, and the primer underneath made it seem a darker tone of white, but I`m not 100% sure. Also any tips on re-leveling the paint around the chip would be a big help. I`ll try to post some pics ASAP.
