Hope I`m in the correct forum for this.

Well, it finally happened. My cordless drill, a 14.4v B&D, which was used for headlight polishing offsite and of course for home duty, has been out-powered by my wife. She jammed a accessory bit-holder into the chuck and cranked it so tight, even B&D/Dewalt couldn`t fix it.

So I need a new cordless drill.

Like I said, I`ll use it for headlight restoring where electric isn`t available to use my DA, and for home duty.

Any models/makes/voltages you guys use that you particularly liked or disliked for those duties? And why or why not?

My thoughts - buy another B&D that uses the same batteries, so I`ll have extras, (extra charger too), or get a better one that suits my needs better, headlight-wise.

My budget is $200 max, but of course I`d spend less if I could. I believe my old B/D was around $100, but although it was passable for the headlights, it wasn`t outstanding, speed-wise. The D/A did a much better job.

I like the DeWault myself. I have a Craftsman and it`s heavy and bulky. My buddy, who`s a kitchen and bath remodeler, uses a Dewalt and every time he`s working at our house I always comment on how well the DeWalt feels.

Thanks Bob.

Wouldn`t have a model number or voltage, would you?

I would go with the new versions they are putting out with the lithium-ion battery. It takes 20min to fully charge lasts ALOT longer and it`s much more powerful. I know craftsmen makes one it is around $170 and it is 19.2V I believe.

They also make a DA that hooks to that same battery so you might want to look into that also.

If it was me buying one of these I would go with the last one... But that is just me.
