I left the office about an hour and a half ago to head for home. While walking towards my car, I noticed a break in the reflection of my driver-side rear door. I figured it was just a streak of some fluid from the road. As soon as I finally made it to my car, my heart just dropped to the floor. There, in front of eyes that have been staring into a computer screen for the last 9 hours, were two creases approximately 5" in length. Of course, a few accompanying light scratches just happened to top it all off. Everything I have worked so hard to maintain has been destroyed in an instant by some careless buttmunch.

I`m fairly confident I will be able to work the scratches out. I have zero experience popping out dents and can only envision myself making matters worse if I tried.

Would anyone here happen to know of a reputable dent removal specialist in the Los Angeles/Orange County basin that can provide assistance? I`d truly appreciate it.

Thanks!

look in the yellow pages or call a local dealer and see who they use. there is a training school in california, www.rightlook.com you could try there.

Thanks.

I actually found this (http://www.beachcitiespdr.com/) last night and they`re not too far from where I live. I might give them a shot as well.

I subcontract a guy for paintless dent removal, and he is the best. He had 15 years in autobody before moving into PDR. Whoever you get should be able to give you a % chance of fixing the problem. S/he should be honest and upfront, and say they`ll not charge if it isn`t fixed--unless they say they`ll give it a go despite a low chance, in which case you`ll need to cover their time. They should also tell you what to expect at the end, whether it is completely smooth, or a slight wrinkle, or what.

PEI Detail - Thanks for that tidbit of advice. The link I provided in my previous post reveals that their shop does work for the show "Overhaulin." Their prices seem a little bit on the steep side but if their work is guaranteed, I`m willing to pay the price.

I`m still going to give a few places a call. I`d like to see a portfolio of other shops` work as well.

On a side note, I have called the security agency that provides surveilance for our building. I`m hoping that they have a recording of the incident so that I can pass the repair costs to the responsible party.

Hey Conrad. My guy charges $75 for showing up, and will do 2-3 dents for that price. Anything more than double that is a step beyond what you need to be paying, I think.

If the repair is done correctly it`s as good as new. you won`t even notice the dent was there. it `s better than bondo and repaint and a lot cheaper :goodluck:

I called a few more places and the average price seems to be $80 to $100, which sounds a lot more reasonable. I think the shop I linked to above is capatalizing on their work for "Overhaulin`."

The good news is that the surveillance video has been reviewed and I have filed a police report for the incident. This buttmunch will have his/her license suspended for one year and will have to compensate me for the damage.

Dent Dynamics does great work, we`ve brought my dads truck there a couple times and had great success! :punk:

Now the detail shop that`s in the same building, that`s another story

That`s awesome!! I can`t believe you were able to find out who damaged your car. I`ve had my car dinged and dented a couple of times and there were no cameras around so I had no recourse. My old car was scraped on the passenger side, but I didn`t see it possibly for days. So, I had no idea where it happened.

LOL True. I`m working with Smith`s Auto Detailing right now, he does great work, but he could easily do better :)
