View Full Version : Lug nut cleaner?

I purchased this out of a recommendation from someone at GM-Trucks.com, it works ok and I am glad I got it as I had nothing before it.

My question is, are there others out there that maybe work better or are of a better quality?

Maybe it is just me and I think my lug nuts are too big for this tool but I found it a bit of a pain doing each lug as the foam applicator kept getting pushed/bunched up.

Like I said, it is certainly better than what I had but I am wondering if there is anything else out there that does a better job or is better made?

These brushes aren`t bad:

You can find that over the counter at most stores too.

+1 on the lugnut brush. I have owned a couple of them and they work great. They can be found at most car parts stores.

Those plastic-bristle brushes give me the willies...I stick to BHBs for this. A few of my vehicles have deep wheel lug cavities and the BHBs always work fine.

....I use a 1" round BHB for the lug nuts/holes as well as various nook & crannies.

I too have that problem, where the foam will get pushed all the way back to where it`s only cleaning the tip of the lug. What i do is pull the foam out to where only half of it is on the plastic handle. That seems to help.

BHB= Boars hair brush. They work great for lugnuts and such. Just picked up a new one today. Qtips always work quite well too.

Harbor Freight sells them for half the price of what others charge for - I brought 3 of them and the black curved foam wheel dressing applicator for so cheap!
