First off,

Sick bike. Yeah, street bikes are always cool, but this one truly looks like its breaking the law just sitting still. The lines are gorgeous as is the color combo (I`m partial to red wheels!).

Bike was in excellent shape. It has about every bolt-on offered (titanium header/exhaust, comp programmer, etc.) and candy chromed wheels (powder coated red, then chromed). It had a couple scuffs here and there from passenger neglect and a few swirls. I did the whole thing by hand and spent just shy of 3 hours. I removed both seats and the mirrors. I covered every square inch of the bike from 4 different angles. Rule of thumb with bikes:

"When you think you`re done, you`re not"

Final processes:

-Poorboy`s S+W on everything but tires
-Hi-Temp Heavy Cut by hand and MF applicator x 2
-Menzerna PO 85RD by hand and MF applicator x 2
-Klasse AIO x 2 on EVERYTHING but tires
-FK1 #2180 by hand
-OCW by hand x 2
-FK1 #425 for touch-ups

-Poorboy`s Trim Restorer on hoses and plastic trim

That has to be one of the best looking bikes I have ever seen. I am trying to talk the wife into letting me get a street bike, I only have dirt bikes at this time.

This process is new to me. I`ve never heard of chrome over powder coat. I`ve heard of it/seen it the other way around but not as stated.

Me either, how would the chrome stick to the powder coat and let the color of the powder coat show through?

Other than that, sweet bike :beer_smil

Sean,

What a beautiful bike! Quality detail as per usual. OCW did well on that machine. :)

LOL, I know exactly what you mean when you said "When you think you`re done, you`re not". Try detailing a Ducati 749s, more nooks/crannies than you can imagine!

That is one sweet bike though, your work always impresses me, Sean. I`d like to see more bikes though

** Wow ** Bikes look like A LOT of very focused work.

That really turned out very nice. I`ve been approached by a few Harley owners, and I`m not sure if I want to sign up for bikes.

No flitz?

What tools do you use to get to the zillions of hard to reach areas?

Thanks all.

Don: Just what the owner told me... ?

John: No Flitz needed. Klasse AIO did the trick!

I used a good amount of S+W to presoak and wrapped my hand in a number of MF`s to clean. The first few bikes I did, I got nice and cut up, but not this one :).

kick...butt....bike (drool)

Candy Chrome: not powdercoat under chrome, but rather chrome under a pigmented clearcoat...

Yamaha has always had the sexiest looking bikes . 600`s and 1K `s are sweet. Great work man.
If I really get alot of energy I take off my plastics and go to town . 05 Kawa ZX-6.

Spray wax is a easy way to keep up bikes.
