A steamer is more versatile.

What about the steamers that are also extractors? I just found these offered by Vapor Clean Inc. Steam cleaner, steam cleaners, steam cleaning, steam vapor cleaners (http://www.myvaporclean.com/)
I was looking at an extractor but you can pretty much only use it on carpet. But if you have a steam extractor you could really bang out a job without using a lot of chemicals.
