I scheduled this detail at the last minute. My fiance and I decided we were going to schedule a "no work" weekend. That sounded good until I received a phone call for a Mazda 3 that needed some TLC. I was bored, Jordyn was fidgeting, and so we took it in.
The idea was to simply freshen it up. The owner lives in Pittsburg and never has a chance to get it clean. He works from home, but he travels a good bit. He is also remodelling his condo and really needs a truck, but for now he uses this auto to get drywall, plywood, etc. Boy does it show.
The car looked generally dirty on the outside, but the inside was a M E S S.
Anyway, for 2.5 hours I think the outcome looked good (did not meet our ultimate standards), but he got what he paid for (our Casual Package- plus a little more) and it met every bit of his expectations. He later took us out for drinks and dinner in addition to show his appreciation. :woot2: Next time, he said he will spring for the correction package(s) as there were several scratches in the paint.
Here`s the Process:
Exterior Cleanse- Surf City Grime remover for all the bugs and along and under wheel wells, DP Xtreme Foam/AG Foam Gun Wash, Pinnacle Bug Sponge, Optimum Clay with Sonus Glyde, Poorboys EX-P, Optimum Gloss Enhancer
Interior Cleanse- Vacuum, TOL APC (10:1), Swissvax Brushes, Meguiar`s Quick Interior Detailer
Wheels: PB Wheel Cleaner, Wheel Brush (Cone), BH Wheel Face Brush, Meg`s Hot Shine
Engine: Tarminator, TOL APC, Swissvax Brushes, CD2
Trim: PB Trim Restorer
Exhaust Tip: TOL APC, 0000 Steel Wool, ND Wadding
There was only sun for about 20 minutes, and that was caught by chance by me almost 2 hours after the car was done.
On to the show:
