I`ve been debating between both the UDM and the Makita 9227, and I have one final thing to consider.. How does the PC work on boats? I intend to have both machines, but first things first. So which one does both cars and boats best until I have both machines?

Thanks in advance.

In the hands of someone that knows how to use it, a rotary will run circles around a PC/UDM. Especially on something like a boat, when there is a lot of area to cover. It would take you MUCH longer to do a job with a PC/UDM than it would with a rotary.

I do boats regularly and I would never tackle a boat with a PC. +1 for rotary!

Yea maybe I`ll just grab the Makita first. All I`ve ever used is a rotary, but I`ve been itching to try out the UDM. Maybe I`ll wait and get the UDM closer to summer. Thanks, guys.

the only thing i use a PC for is Applying wax, rotary is the only way to go in gel-coat

Thanks, guys. So can anyone point me in the direction of a good place to pick up a new 9227?
